DivvyWork has over ten years experience developing dynamic web applications on a number a platforms. Dynamic web apps are web pages that use server resources such as databases, user management methods, and network resources to display, edit, or add data, keep track of user session information, or pull data from local files or external resources. In such applications the server collects all the needed data, processes that data and then presents the finished product to the user by displaying a finished webpage.
Internet marketing involves all the activities needed to use the internet to promote a message, product, or service. Generally speaking there are two ways this can be accomplished: One, have your message spread by strangers all over the internet, a phenomenon known as “going viral”. Or, two, obtain better rankings for popular relevant keywords in leading search engines, particularly Google.
Business solution development is an overarching term used to describe a number of project types. Generally these projects involve the automation of tasks, distribution of data, assignment of work, or the passing of information and ideas. Commonly, business solutions are unique applications that are needed to make a company more effective and profitable by making a common task easier to complete. Some example of Business Solutions include inventory control systems, accounting systems, custom shopping cart creation, time management applications, social networking solution creation, multimedia delivery solution creation, data collection script creation and much more.
Custom Portal Solutions allow employees, customers, venders and other visitors a way access to company information and resources while maintaining privacy and security. Your portal could be a gateway to a companywide intranet or a members section to a restricted area of your website or it could be both. Once you create a portal you can customize the experience that all your visitors have depending on their security level, employee status, customer status, account balance or whatever metric matters for your business.
You need to have your data available to the people who are supposed to have access and keep it secure from those without clearance. You don’t want a database that is messy and not structured correctly as this could lead to slow response from your database or even loss or corruption of data. Even small problems in how database is set up can lead to slowdowns in or disruptions of service, a situation that can be considered a MAJOR problem for many companies.
Thinking about building ecommerce functionality into your company’s website? Consider this: On a single day, November 29th 2010 (Cyber Monday) there were over one billion dollars of internet sales through online retailers. This marked a milestone in the history of ecommerce and is even more evidence of the growing importance of the internet as a direct sales tools. Another indication that as time goes by more and more people will be turning to the internet not only to connect with one another but also to buy goods and services. At this point anyone running any business should be looking into how the internet can help their company grow faster and get a greater return on investment.
Rich Internet Applications (RIA) are specialized applications that can be run as desktop, web, or mobile applications. Often RIA applications act less like a web page and more like a desktop application… but really they can be designed to look and feel just about any way you want them to behave. These types of applications are commonly created because of a need for more interaction or added functionality than standard webpage output would make possible. RIA design makes use of media such as animation, video, and audio making your app as fancy, functional and interactive as needed. Even though RIAs are great for a lot of types of applications there are times when a standard web application design is more desirable. Below is a list of common RIA types:
When the term “Rich Internet Application” is used it generally refers to any application using Flash or the less used Silver Light technologies to display their output. This means that RIAs can be built on top of other technologies like.NET or PHP making your RIA as strong, fast, and secure as any web application out there. Since the RIAs use Flash Player technology just about any device capable of viewing flash content can make use of RIA apps. DivvyWork creates Rich Internet Applications primarily using Flex 4 and the Flash Player platform as its frontend technology. For the backend side of things we use .NET/MSSQL or PHP/MySQL. This means the RIA we create can be as powerful, fast, and reliable as anything on the internet and because of the use of the Flash Player our RIAs can move from desktop to the web or even to a cell phone. RIAs are great for a lot of types of applications but there are times when a standard web application design is more desirable. Talk to us about your project and we can help you figure out if a RIA type of design would work well for your project.
